The first UK Afghan peace conference to focus solely on the conflict with contributions from:

Jonathan Steele Guardian journalist and author of 'Ghosts of Afghanistan' who will provide an in depth analysis on the last 12 years of war 
Ordinary Afghan women speaking live from Kabul
Afghan Peace Volunteers via a video message
Afghan Grassroots activist Sabir Zazai currently based in Coventry working within the Afghan community and the UK peace movement
Workshops with:
London Guantanamo Campaign Aisha Maniar looking at secret prisons, torture and the war on terror
Stop the War Lindsey German, Afghan grassroots activist Sabir Zazai looking at movement building within the Afghan community and the UK peace movement
Drone Wars UK Chris Cole, Mary Dobbing and VCNV US Brian Terrell on the issue of drone warfare both in the US and UK
Voices for Creative Non-Violence UK Susan Clarkson and Beth Tichborne speak about their peace delegation to Kabul in 2012/13 and what we can do to support grassroots activists in Afghanistan
Women's rights in Afghanistan, what has changed for Afghan women, a grassroots perspective on the situation and discussion on how real change can take place
The afternoon will conclude with Q&A via Skype with the Afghan Peace Volunteers in Kabul, a unique opportunity to hear from and question non-violent Afghan activists
