Caring for Mother Earth 

On Earth Day, the 22nd of April 2014, the Afghan Peace Volunteers picked up trash in the green patch on which they had planted trees last year, as well as in a public park.

During that week, they also planted vegetables and started a food compost bin.  To read more, click here

Bethnal Green to Brighton

Last week VCNV gave talks in Brighton and Hastings as well as co-facilitating a workshop with a Muslim gender equality officer at a predominantly Muslim secondary School in Bethnal Green. The workshop with 6th formers looked at fundamentalism, Islamaphobia and gender equality for Muslims, a lively discussion proceeded.

On the Road to Ground the Drones

Maya Evans is at this moment in the US, joining friends who are on a walk of witness about drones.  Maya continues to give talks about the current situation in Afghanistan and the use of UK armed drones. To read more about the walk, click here

PN Summer Camp

This year there will be a workshop called 'Eyewitness Afghanistan' which Susan Clarkson will give.  It will be based on the life and work of the Afghan Peace Volunteers.  For details of the camp see click here
